Building Your First Web Site

If this is your first time attempting building a web site, don't try to overwhelm yourself by trying to duplicate the best sites you've ever seen on the web. The people that have built those sites have years of experience and special training. That said, there is no reason why you cannot build a very nice site using the advice, tips, and tricks that I have put together on this site. Once you start mastering the basics, check out some of the topics in the advanced sections. Remember, you have to crawl before you can walk.

In order to get the most out of this site and learn the fastest, it is a good idea to read through the entire list of sub-topics under a heading in a given topic such as "Site Creation". After reading through all of the sub-topics and trying out some of the tips, you should be confident enough to put it to practice and use the sub-topics as a reference if you get stuck.
